About MUS Latin

Latin has been an integral part of the MUS curriculum since 1893, and MUS Latin students work hard to maintain a tradition of academic excellence.

Recent Results from the TJCL State Convention:

2005 -- 2nd place overall

2006 -- 1st place overall

2007 -- 2nd place overall

2008 -- 1st place overall

2009 -- 1st place overall 

Recent Results from the National Latin Exam:

2005 -- 47 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals

2006 -- 69 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals

2007 -- 74 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals (#1 in metro Memphis; #2 in Tennessee)

2008 -- 100 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals (#1 in metro Memphis; #2 in Tennessee)

2009 -- 79 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals (#1 in metro Memphis; #2 in Tennessee)

Recent Results from the Advanced Placement Latin Exam:

2006 -- 100% of students scored a 3 or above

2007 -- 100% of students scored a 3 or above

2008 -- 100% of students scored a 3 or above (71% scored a 5)

2009 -- 100% of students scored a 3 or above (65% scored a 5)
