JCL Dues Deadline

|

A reminder that the JCL membership deadline is one week from today.  Please bring a check for $22 (membership only) or $30 (membership plus Octoberfestivus admission).  Checks should be made out to MUS and should include the student's name and shirt size.

In addition to being a nice academic credential for one's resume, MUS JCL membership includes a JCL polo shirt and two JCL magnets (artwork posted below).  It is also one of the eligibility requirements to join the Latin Honor Society and to attend the TJCL State Convention in Gatlinburg in the spring.

MUS Latin in the School Newspaper

|

The Owl's Hoot recently published an article about the MUS delegation to the NJCL Convention at the University of California-Davis this past summer.  MUS Latin students Nicholas Rouse and Mason Soun both made a very strong showing in academic testing and Certamen.  Mason, in fact, earned the top score on the Roman History examination.  Can we now call Mason a Roman History national champion?  I think we can.  Gratulationes!

Ciao Italia!

|

Ms. Reinhardt is planning a fabulous trip to Italy over Spring Break (March 4-14, 2010).  The trip is open to all current Latin Two and Latin Three students.  The trip will include Rome, Ostia, Naples, Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Paestum.

Please contact Ms. Reinhardt if you are interested.  The overall cost of the trip will probably be in the $2500 range (airfare included).
