Last week, MUS Latin students John David Christman, Wade Laycook, Nathan Feler, Eli Goldstein, Mason Soun, and Nicholas Rouse attended the 55th Annual National Junior Classical League Convention at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Some notable achievements:
- Wade Laycook began his 2nd consecutive term as TJCL Parliamentarian.
- The Tennessee Level One Certamen Team finished 6th overall out of 21 state teams. Team members were Eli Goldstein, Nicholas Rouse, John David Christman, and Fiona Sapplefield (Meigs Magnet School).
- Eli Goldstein placed in the top 10 in grammar, Latin mottos, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
- Nicolas Rouse placed in the top 10 in Greek derivatives, Greek history, Greek life and literature, and Latin literature.
- Mason Soun placed in the top 10 in grammar, reading comprehension, and Roman history.
Congratulations to these fine students!
