This is a short summary of some of the options you will use in PowerPoint.

It saves time to use PhotoAlbum to insert the images

  • Title slide
  • Solid background
  • Slide Transitions
  • Slide Timings
  • Music playing throughout the show
  • Compressed images
  • Packaged for CD and burn to CD
  • Criteria for the show
  • 50-60 images (no video)
  • Images show from 3-4 seconds each; you can rarely show one for 2 or 5 seconds

Additional information on accessing the Drop Folders can be found here.

** Mac Users

You need to be aware of how to handle an issue if you copy/paste images into your presentation. If you use Insert Picture From File or the PhotoAlbum to put pictures in, they will travel with your presentation. If you use copy/paste, you will see Xs where the pictures should be when you view your presentation on another machine.

A solution to the copy/paste issue: Open your presentation where you can see all of your pictures. Go to the File menu and choose Save As. Choose PowerPoint Package.

You should also run a compatibility check on your presentation (same Save As window.)

Not all versions for the Mac have the Photo Album. All the computers at school do.

PhotoStory –

Use still pictures, narrations and titles to tell the story of your decade. Results will be saved as a movie and can be used in conjunction with MovieMaker, if desired. Note: Before you record your narration, type your script. “Winging it” does not work well.
