- Advanced Topics (for students who have successfully completed AP Calculus BC)
Quarter Courses
The following classes have been taught previously and may be offered again in 2012-2013, depending on student interest:
- Problem Solving
- Probability
- Music and Math
- Number Theory
- Engineering Math
Many topics for other future quarter courses are possible:
- Graph Theory
- Fractal Geometry
- Famous Equations
- Combinatorics
The "quarter courses" are not core courses and will not count toward the mathematics requirement. A real grade will be given which will appear on the transcript addendum, but no credit will be given and the grade will not affect GPA. Quarter courses start quickly, move briskly, and demand full commitment from every student. The primary purposes of these courses are to enrich students' knowledge about topics already in the curriculum and to expose students to certain topics not in the usual mathematics curriculum.
