Our Red & Blue Guide for Works Cited Lists gives examples that are frequently used at MUS.
If you want to use EasyBib.com for a research paper and have your teacher's permission, here are some easy steps to follow after you create your own EasyBib account and create a Project:
First, skim over a new source to
see if it looks helpful.
Second, if it's helpful, create a
works cited entry before taking any notes using the Bibliography page.
Third, go to the Notes page; take a few notes on the
source and be sure to select the source on your notecard for each note.
Fourth, repeat this process until
you have a good collection of notes.
While taking more notes, you can
group them into categories or wait and do that later; this part of the project is flexible.
Fifth, create bullet point headings for your main points, and drag your notes into
your outline on the right of the Notes page; you can edit them later also.
Sixth, after creating a list of
sources, move your citations into a Word document and save them.
Seventh, begin typing your paper
into Word above the Works Cited list (or optionally, create a Google document if you have a Gmail account;
this has pros and cons--for example, it doesn't use page numbers as of Feb. 2012; so consult your teacher).
