                                                                                 PHOTOGRAPHY  SYLLABUS
   I. General objectives of the course:
         A. To introduce the student to the use of the 35 mm SLR camera
         B. To introduce the student to darkroom procedures and techniques
         C. To provide the student with an opportunity to apply his design skills
                to a new medium
         D. To help the student improve his artistic perception
       
  II. Content of the course/Methods:
        The objectives of the course are achieved through "hands-on" work in the photo lab
        and through numerous projects designed to provide the skills appropriate to the
        production of good photographs
       
III. Materials:
       The student must provide his own 35 mm SLR camera.
       The primary source material for the course will be provided by the text
       Photography written by Barbara London and John Upton.

IV. Evaluation: 
       Any evaluation of artistic merit is subjective,  but the student's willingness to complete
       projects and follow through on his "experiments" in this medium provide a substantial 
       part
of the final evaluation.
