Webpage Basics
 

Getting Started
1. Open FrontPage
2. Open your webfolder:  File Open Web  (important not Open, but Open Web)
 

If you have logged on before, you should see faculty.musowls.org (or your particular folder in the list.) Click on it and click Open.

Update: 1/12/2007
Your username will now be musschool\john.doe
Click the remember my password box before you click OK.

If you do not see one of those files, type the following in the box next to Folder name:
http://faculty.musowls.org/lastnamefirstinitial

an example:

http://faculty.musowls.org/HarkinsJ

3. Click your folder and click Open if you have not already done so.
Working on Your Pages
1. Your main page is called usually called index.htm
2. Open index.htm (or whichever page you need to edit) by double-clicking it in the Folder List

Look at the Headings below to find information on what you need to do next.

Create a New Page
1. Open template.htm

2. Insert your new title.

3. Click File, Save As and name your new page.  Remember not to put special characters like a period, /,# in your file name. Also change the page title to something appropriate. The page title is what is seen when someone prints your page or adds it to their Favorites.

*Alternate Method to Open Your Web

Open Internet Explorer and go to musowls and your teacher webpage.

On the toolbar at the top, look for this button and click it.

You will log in with regular username and password.  If you have any trouble logging in, put musschool\ in front of your username.

This method will open up FrontPage to the page you were viewing in Internet Explorer.
