Email a Group of Individuals

Bcc column

Good for email sent to a large group of individuals

  • so the long header does not show in the recipient's email
  • to hide the actual addresses, so others cannot copy them
  • so a response will only come to you and not the other people emailed

To add the Bcc field:

Office 2003 - with a new email open, click the View menu and click Bcc.

Office 2010 - with a new email open, go to the Options tab and click Bcc.

Note: I do not recommend that you use the Bcc field otherwise.

Email Addresses from a Spreadsheet

Click on the cells that have the addresses you need and copy them. Go to the open email, click in the Bcc (or the To) field and paste them. Semicolons will automatically be inserted between the email addresses.

Remember to always fill in the Subject Field (even for interschool emails) and to Check Spelling.
