Outlook - Out of Office

When you go on vacation you can use the Out of Office Assistant to create a message that will notify anyone that sends you an email that you are out of school (the office) and will not check your email for awhile. It is easy to do.

Open Outlook

Click the Tools Menu

Click Out of Office Assistant

You get the following screen

 

Note that even though my status in In the Office, I have already created a message I want to use when I am out.

When I am ready to use it, I just click the option for Out of the Office.

Webmail Access

You can also set the Out of Office message by going to email through the web.

  • Go to the MUS website
  • Click the Students button at the top of the screen
  • Click email in the Index on the left
  • Log in using your MUS username and password
  • Click Options at the bottom of the list on the left

The Out of Office Assistant will be at the top of the page. Click the appropriate button and fill in the message.
