Remove Comments From an Essay

If your English teacher has returned an essay with comments inserted, you may want to remove the comments and shading. You can remove the comments from view so they can be shown later, if needed. Alternately, you can permanently delete the comments. Both methods are explained below.

Click the Review tab and go to the Tracking group.

To Remove Comments from View...

• Click the down arrow next to Final Showing Markup and choose Final.

Or

• Click the down arrow next to Show Markup and click on Comments to remove the checkmark and therefore the view of comments.

Or

To Permanently Remove Them...

• You can right-click the Comment balloon and select Delete Comment

Or

• Highlight and delete the words that need to be removed or changed. The comments will disappear with the deletion.
