Print From Your Computer to the Cannon Copier

IR7200 canon photocopier

Before you will be able to print from your desk to the copier in the Upper School or Lower School workrooms, one of the IT Managers will have to add the copier as a printer on your computer and set up its mailbox. Please contact Mr. Smith to let him know if you need to have that done.

There is a cost savings in printing a large multipage document to the copier rather than your local printer.

When you are ready to print your document, go to the File menu, Print.

Choose the Canon Copier
Click the down-arrow indicated in the image to the right and choose Canon Copier
(\\tc-print Canon Copier IR7200)

Be sure that the collate button is not selected on the screen shown to the right. If you need to collate, you will make that selection on the next window.

Click the Properties button to set options for the copier such as staple or collate. (If you are using Internet Explorer you will select the Page Setup tab to get to the same window.)

There are several selections you can make here. Note the ones listed below.

Stapler Options
Click the Staple Position button if you wish to change it from the default (upper left single)

Click OK when you have completed making all of your settings.

Paper Source and Quality tabs
Only go to these tabs if you do not want the defaults. The default Paper Source is 8 1/2 x 11. The default Quality is text quality.

Change back to your Default Printer
You only need to make this change if you need to print again with the same application still open. Otherwise your computer will reset to your default printer automatically. To change printers while still in the application, click File, Print, click the down-arrow indicated in the first step above. Choose the printer you normally use.

Finish Your Print Job at the Copier
Your print job should go to a mailbox and not print immediately (IT will set this up for you.)

To finish your print job, select Mail Box on the display screen at the copier.

Jobs started at the copier use the Copy tab (usually selected by default.)

When you select the Mailbox tab you will see a list of mailboxes. Click on your name and enter the password IT assigned you, and click OK.

You will see any print jobs you have sent to the copier in the last seven days. The newest will be on the bottom.

Click it to select it. (There is also a Select All button.)

Next click the Start Print button.

As a courtesy to others, click the Copy tab before leaving the copier.
