
1) AMC8: American Mathematics Contest (November) (EVERYONE)
AMC8 is a national contest that consists of one 40-minutes test taken during school. The overall top score of both grades at MUS receives a pin and the top three places in each math class receive certificates. All seventh and eighth graders will take this test during their math class.

SIGMA is a national contest that consists of five competitions containing eight questions each administered during school. Scores are sent to SIGMA headquarters. A pin is awarded to the MVP ( highest scorer ) and certificates are distributed for the top three places per grade.
4) Continental Math League ( Five contests 11-8 12-6 1-3 2-14 3-13 )
All CML experiences are designed to both maximize student opportunities to participate and to improve their problem solving capabilities. Your students will be participating with other students on the same grade level from schools all over the
Each student is to work independently within the prescribed time period. Paper and pencil are to be used to solve the questions. Each Meet or Contest is to be held on the day that it is scheduled or the nearest possible day. CML will send 2 copies of the questions for each team you enter. Please duplicate as many copies as you need. There is NO restriction as to how many students may participate in the Meets or Contests.
5) TMTA (
MUS sends students to this April Competition each year. Students are selected by their teacher and the number of participates allowed depends on the enrollment for each content area. Our Lower School Algebra I classes are eligible for this competition.
6) Math Olympiad (5 times per year )
