A. Verb Principal Parts
1. A Latin verb has 4 principal parts: Present
Tense Infinitive Perfect Tense Perfect Passive ("I" form) ("I" form) Participle 2. Memorize these principal parts for regular verbs:

conjugation verbs follow the patterns in the chart above.) 3. When a verb does not follow the pattern in the chart above, the vocabulary entry will give you its principal parts. Memorize these principal parts:
B. Perfect Tense 1. refers to a single past action 2. is translated using (a) have/has (b) did (c) English past tense 3. is formed by using the 3rd principal parts of the Latin verb. The -i ending is replaced by the following endings, which are used only for the perfect tense:
All Latin verbs form their perfect tense the same way, regardless of their conjugation. Ex.:
