B. Adjectives 1. So far, you may only use the endings in
the -us and -a groups of the chart above. feminine masculine singular subject -a
-us singular direct object -am
-um plural subject -ae
-i 2. A Latin adjective modifies
a noun and therefore must have an appropriate ending. An adjective must agree with the noun it modifies
in three ways: number
(singular or plural) gender (masculine or feminine) case (nominative or accusative) Ex. Sextus
puellam laetam videt. Sextus
sees the happy girl. Note: This rule does not say the noun and
adjective must look exactly alike. Ex. Puer
laetus in agris est. The
happy boy is in the fields. Hodie
mater est occupata. Today the mother
is busy. Ego
tuum patrem sollicitum video. I see your
worried father. C. Pronouns 1. ego I 5. eius his, her(s) 2. me me 6. eum him 3. tu you (nom. sing.) 7. eos them 4. te you (acc. sing.) |
