This link is to the proof of a fairly insignificant theorem. However, tomorrow, we are going to find a formula for the error in approximating the Taylor series with a Taylor polynomial, and this little theorem I am posting is needed to prove the important theorem - The Lagrange Remainder Theorem.
The packet needs to be ready for submission on the first day we have class. There
will be a grade assigned, as well as a couple of tests over the material during the
first two weeks of class. Feel free to get help if you need it. You may talk with
other students, consult your text or any other references, and please feel free to
e-mail me (
nancy.gates@musowls.org) for help when you need it.
If you have a TI-Nspire and need to do a screen capture in the computer lab, you will find a cable near the printer. It is the black one.
The program, TI-Nspire Computer Link, is in the Program Shortcuts folder on the Desktop.
With Microsoft Word open, go to the Tools menu, Customize.
Click the Commands tab in the new window that opens.
In the left part of the window, choose the category Insert.
In the right part of the window, scroll down till you find the Equation Editor icon.
Click on it and drag it up to one of your toolbars and let go.
_________________________________________________________________ These instructions will also work at home. They are not working in the computer lab on the PCs at this time. Go to the Insert menu, Object, and choose Microsoft Equation 3.0 to put an equation into a document.![]()
