A. Regulares:
más/menos + (adj./adv./verb) + que +
(punto de comparación)
más rápidamente que mi coche
menos inteligente que su hermano
if there are conjugated verbs on either side of the comparison, a broader conjunction is
necessary: más/menos + (adj/adv/noun) + de + el/la/los/las/lo que + comparison
· choose article that agrees with object of both nouns
· if object is different or if one verb doesn't have an object (ie, ser), use LO
when comparing to the whole, use a negative word!
B. Los
Irregulares: DON'T USE
MÁS/MENOS WITH THESE!
(bueno, bien ->) mejor =
better, best
(malo, mal ->) peor = worse,
worst
(mejor & peor go before)
mayor = older, greater
menor = younger, lesser
C. Con los
números.
más/menos + DE + número (en una frase afirmativa)
In an affirmative statement, de replaces que
Había más de 100.
In a negative statement, de or que is used, with different meanings.
No había más de 100. = There were fewer than 100.
No había más que 100 = There were exactly (no more than) 100.
IGUAL:

tanto, -a (s) + noun + como =
as much/many _____ as
verb + tanto como = _____ as
much as
*NUNCA se dice "tan mucho".... As/so much = TANTO
SUPERLATIVOS:
la formula para los superlativos:
(article) + (noun) + más/menos +
de(l) + (set) = the most/least (adj) (noun) in/of ____
el chico más alto de la clase
la niña menos valiente del grupo
SUPER ADJECTIVE:
change ending to give extreme meaning
*do not use these words in comparison formulas!
